Ah Megami-Sama!
 (Ah, My Goddess)
review by Pam Verrey
Tech Institute student and motorcycle racer Keiichi, phones for a takeout, but instead reaches the Goddess Helpers Office. The phone is answered by Belldandy, a very cute young goddess on duty that day. She explains that her service helps people who are in trouble, and she will grant him any one wish. But Keiichi wishes for her to stay with him, forever. Though unexpected, it was a valid wish, and so it is approved. Unable bring any female (goddess or not) to his men-only dorm, Keiichi and Belldandy take up a chaste relationship in an old temple. She's a perfect homemaker and companion (mostly) and they are quite happy, but one day she is joined by her sisters. The fun begins...(Webmaster's note: The original series, and the new one have slightly different beginnings, but still, overall, great viewing of a great series.

Akagi
by Snoopy
On a dark and stormy night in 1958, 13 year old gang member Shigeru Akagi survives a game of "CHICKEN" and finds his way to a mahjong parlor. Here he finds a very down on his luck gambler in the name of Nangou who is 3 million yen in debt to the Yakuza. Not knowing a thing about Mahjong, he ends up playing for Nangou, and wins round after round. For the final round, the Yakuza decide to bring in one of their ace players, Yagi to deal with this upstart. The cold, calculating Akagi however, learns the game quickly, and begins to demoralize Yagi and the Yakuza. After clearing all of Nangou's debts, he asks for double or nothing, and wins again. From this night on, the legend of the Mahjong player Akagi is born. (webmasters note: I'd sure like to get Shigeru Akagi to play in one of the poker championship series!)

Angel Heart
by Takahashi Ryousuke
Angel Heart is the continuation of the City Hunter series by Tsukasa Hojo. While saving a kid from getting run over by a truck, Kaori herself is run over and passes away just before she and everyones favorite ECCHI guy Ryo Saeba can get married. Kaori's heart is to be donated to another patient, but somehow gets stolen and placed into the body of a trained killer. Manifestations of Kaori begin to haunt the young Chinese assassin, as she begins to look for the person her heart is telling her to find. I think you will like this continuation, and perhaps, we will be showing this show in the near future.

Azumanga Daioh
By Kell Komatsubara
Azuma Kiyoko's manga, turned into anime is a delightfully fun look at high school life. Starting from their first year, we are introduced to some of the most interesting students, and teachers you could possibly imagine. Ayumu Kasuga, or "OSAKA" is the dizzy student you just love to watch "Focusing on focusing", and to the person who gave her the nickname, Tomo-chan who after watching the entire series, we learn have ABSOLUTELY NO REDEEMING QUALITIES about her. But wait! She is not the only one like that! The teacher Tanizaki san, who is always late for class, welches on bets(teachers and students alike) and can't drive to save her (censored). Then, there are those with many good qualities, like Sakaki, who is the school athlete who also likes animals (but the neighborhood cats don't like her), Yomi, who has gone to school with Tomo since kindergarten and been a victim to Tomo's many games. Also, there is a "Genius" in Mihama Chiyo who is a grade school student, who was promoted to high school. I think you will watch this show, and see a lot of people in your own past you will recognize with these same traits and will fall in love with this wonderful show...
