If you were to look in the dictionary for "negative", you would get the picture of Itoshiki Nozomu. But if you looked at "positive", you'd find Fuura Kafuka, his student. Fuura gives Nozomu the name "Pink Supervisor" to his chagrin when Fuura tries to save him from killing himself by hanging. Oh well, not to give any more away, this may be the next big hit since Haruhi...

Lain Iwakumi is a normal, shy 8th grade girl who doesn’t like computers, with normal classmates and a normal family. Everything’s, well, normal, until one of her classmates commits suicide, then e-mails her class after her death. With cool art by Yoshitoshi Abe, this mixes up all kinds of weirdness (cyberpunk, men in black, nanotechnology, doppelgangers, ghosts in the machine, Kabbalism - not the Madonna kind, aliens, virtual games, etc.), making a surreal Conspiracies-R-Us out of Lain’s life. So much for normal;D

Wow its been a long time since I did one of these, well for my return its Souleater. A girl named Maka stands with a scythe facing off with a evil bad guy, as she cuts thru him with the scythe he turns into a soul and her scythe takes the form of a boy who eats it. His name is Soul = Eater and he wants to become the next Deathscythe which is a title her father holds. To do that he needs to eat 99 souls of bad people and 1 witches soul, as they go after the last witch they are defeated many times until a cunning plan wins them a victory over her, as he eats her soul to become the Deathscythe a strange thing happens and it fails. Finding out that the witch was not human but a cat with strong magic powers they have to restart their quest. Upon returning to their world they meet a few of the others who are collecting souls and have their own partners. One is a ninja, Black Star and his multi tool weapon Tsubaki. The other is a perfectionist maniac Death the Kid and his pair of guns the Thompson Sisters, Patty and Liz. They now hunt down a infamous person by the name of Franken Shuutain who happened to be one of the partners to her father…..
