Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou
(Karekano, His and Her Circumstance)
Review by BakaChan
Just another typical high school love story: Perfect girl meets perfect boy, but perfect girl turns down perfect boy, yet perfect boy discovers that perfect girl isn’t so perfect and blackmails her, perfect girl ends up liking perfect boy, who turns out to have dark secrets…. Okay, not so typical! Brought to you by the same company that made “Evangelion,” this wacky series proves that for Yukino Miyazawa and Soichiro Arima, the course of true love never, ever runs smooth. In fact, their relationship is threatened by rivals, teachers, friends, and their own insecurities! “Kareshi Kanojo no Juyo,” also known as “His and Her Circumstances,” is based on the manga by Masami Tsuda, which is still ongoing, although the anime series stopped oh-so-abruptly.
Kaibutsu Ohjo
(Review by Zachary Tom)
Hiro Hiyomi receives a letter from his sister, he goes to the house indicated on the map, but it appears to be abandoned. The gate is locked and the windows are boarded up. He has no choice but to go back to town. There, he finds a cart loaded with household goods. The person pulling the cart is a strange little girl in a maid uniform, and sitting at the top of the cart is a beautiful girl with long hair in a black dress. The cart is stuck in the road with a broken wheel and will not move. Then, I-Beams from a building under construction fall. Hiro protects the girl but is crushed under the beams. He is rushed to a hospital, but there is nothing they can do for him. He passes away and is transferred to the morgue. Suddenly, the girl appears in front of his body in the morgue. She then makes a strange comment, "This is a good body." The girl holds her index finger up over his body. Fireballs gather around her fingers. They drop onto the white cloth covering his face, and a glow appears around his body…
Kikaider-The animation

Ishinomori Shotaro's manga/sentai series is now an anime! From the manga, then to a sentai series starring Ban Daisuke, the show has now evolved into the animated version which is much more loyal to the original manga. You get to see a lot more of the plot, including getting to meet Komyoji's wife, and the startling revelation,(to us who first watched the sentai show) that Professor Gill is a GAIJIN, not an UCHUUJIN! The series is told in a very dark manner, as you don't get happy endings at the end of every episode...
Kikaider 01-The animation

The continuation of the Kikaider series, tended to be a little weaker than the original, but still is good viewing. Once again, the story line is very dark, and closer to the original manga. About half way, you meet the "third" Kikaider, "Double O". Professor GIll's brain, is now in Hakaider(now called Gill Hakaider), but it truly is Gill who is calling the shots, not Hakaider like the sentai show. I am pretty sure, that you will enjoy this version of the story!

Review by Takahashi Ryousuke
Kindaichi Hajime, the grandson of the great detective Kindaichi Kousuke is your typical high school student with one difference. His IQ level is off the scale. Not a very good student, as probably the curriculum bores his mind, he is somehow attracted to a lot of situations of mystery and death. Using his intellect, he takes apart each case bit by bit, until his famous saying, "The Mystery is SOLVED!" As one of the other members of the club once said, "every time you think YOU know who the killer is... He dies..." Lets test your own intellect and see if you can beat Kindachi kun to the answer!
